Contests in Bellport – This is the spot where you can find local contests that you can join in and win cash, prizes, and bragging rights. Many of the contests will be hosted by us, but we will also be sharing some others you will definitely be interested in entering. As we hear of a new contest going on in the neighborhood we will post it here. Check back regularly to see whats new on the list.

Contest Details – Write a story or article on one of ten designated topics. One story will be selected from each category, to be published right here on this site. Our readers will then vote on which article they like the best. Whoever gets the most votes wins. We are looking for original, user submitted stories/articles. Each submission must be completely original, written by you. We will verify every submission to be unique to the best of our ability. Articles and stories must be a minimum of 500 words to qualify.
We will accept 10 submissions for each category. One winner will be chosen from each topic. Once we have a winner from all 10 categories we will publish them all on BELLPORT-NY.com for our readers to vote on. Everyone will have 30 days to vote on their favorite. To keep it fair, each visitor will only be allowed to vote once. New categories to choose from will be posted on the first of the month, along with everything else you will need to know. So pick a topic form the list below, or check back on the 1st for more to choose from. Now go ahead and get started writing, and maybe you will put a little extra cash in your pocket while your at it.

- “Bellport Past an Present” – A story or article illustrating how the town has changed over the years.
- “A Bellport Football Story” – Can be any kind of story relating to Bellport football.
- “Top Ten Best Things About Bellport” – Pretty self explanetory.
Check back on 12/01/08 for more topics to be added. We will remove topics from the list as they are filled. Remember we are only taking 10 entries per Topic. You can submit your entries through the contact page.

I found this neat little contest that they are running regularly over at YouPet.Com. In case you haven’t heard of them, they are basically a MySpace for your pets. Membership is free, and once you join and upload some pictures of your cat or dog, or whatever type of pet you have, you will be entered to win the $100 Petco Gift card that they give out every week. If you win, your little angel will be on the front page of their website for the week. Its a pretty cool site with lots of features. Its just a great place for you and your friends or family to share pictures and meet other people with similar breeds of pets.
